How To Bring Diabetes Under Control

Diabetes has become a world-wide phenomenon. More and more people are being affected by this. The problem with diabetes is it is a lifelong disease. When the glucose we get from our food is not properly absorbed by the cells of our body, it continues to stay in our blood and this is called diabetes. It is the insulin that is secreted by our pancreas that helps in absorption of glucose by the cells. If insulin is not produced in right quantities or if the cells do not take the help of insulin to take the glucose in, the blood is loaded with more of glucose. The three main types of diabetes are type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes.

Type 1 diabetes starts even from birth and can not be cured. Gestational diabetes usually occurs in women during pregnancy and mostly, it will go away after the pregnancy is over. It is the type 2 diabetes that is spreading fast among people. Whether it is type 1 diabetes or it is type 2 diabetes, people can adopt a few steps and control the intensity of the disease. It also renders help in the digestion process. Water also moisturizes the body internally. In addition to these things, water is capable of reducing the blood sugar levels also.

- People who are affected by diabetes should have a sufficient night's sleep. In fact, they must sleep one or two hours more than normal people. By doing so, their hormones are strengthened and hence, they can have a better control over their health. A good night's sleep of 8 hours and one or two hours of siesta will be ideal. But, they should never go to sleep till two hours after eating their food.
